Akiba’s Trip The Animation Summary

Akiba’s Trip the Animation is based on Acquire  video game franchise. The series is based on Otaku culture and a real life landmark Akibahara in Japan. Akibahara is a safe haven where otaku where you can buy things related to anime or manga. That’s just anime or manga, there are computer parts, maid cafes and tech production. Akiba’s Trip the Animation does have episodes that deals with them. You can research about Akibahara on your own time. That being said, Akiba’s Trip is a very weird game and  explores it’s culture. The animation is completely different than source material. In the anime, they’re called Bugged Ones. During source material, they’re called Synthisters which are like vampires. Alright, overall plot of the anime is Tamotsu Dengeki who’s main protagonist and otaku. Tamotsu meets a bugged one named Matone Mayonaka.

During her fight with Metrotica (an antagonist organization) in the series. Tamotsu gets involved and nearly died during her battle with Metrotica. Matone uses Transcend Providence to revive Tamotsu some of her power. Tamotsu grains the power of Bugged One and defeats Metrotica minions. Now Matone explains about Bugged Ones and different classes along with plot. Throughout the series, Tamotsu and other major characters explore Akibahara and  fight off Bugged Ones. The other characters are Niwaka, who is Tamotsu sister and Arisa Ahokeinen, a foreigner that enjoy cosplay. Arisa is experience in Martial Arts and reminds me of Kati.  Along with major characters, there are supporting ones like Vigilantes of Akiba.  Vigilantes of Akiba keeps Akibahara in order and gets in the way of main heroes.

Bugged Ones

There is Professor Latu who works alongside of the main characters. Kage who supplies Tamotsu with get deals on items. Mashiro helps Tamotsu gets a job and many more characters. The main villain is Fukame Mayonaka, who wants to enslave Akiba. Matone has a twin sister named Urane. Urame is angry about her sister betraying them. The show follows villain of the week. Main characters fight off Metrotica and strip them down. There is some difference on Bugged Ones. In the video game, you can’t be expose to sunlight but in anime air is the weakness.  A Bugged Ones have highlights in their hair and  act erratic. The only way to defeat them is disrobe them and turn them back to normal. They bodies wouldn’t dissolved like source material. Matone hinted that if you are a bugged one and can’t take off your clothes.

If Tamotsu takes off his clothes, he will slowly die. I was confuse about that, Matone and Tamotsu took off people clothes and didn’t die. That’s one of the problem in this anime. That being said, there is some reference like Street Fighter and Yu-Gi-Oh in some episodes. It’s was very fun to watch and laugh. There is different types of otaku like electronics, gun and many more in this show. Akiba the Animation is not a bad show in my opinion. There are four episodes that progress the plot. If you watch the show, there is filter and some slapstick. We don’t get to explore some of the characters like Niwaka. We know about Arisa who helped a wealthy business person. Matone betraying Fukame and her twin sister.

Closing

We don’t know why Matone betray Metrotica in the show. Latu has a backstory in early episode of the show. Also there is a pc building episode if you’re interested. It’s time to close this blogpost. Akiba’s Trip the Animation has some faults but enjoyable show. The show reminds me of Kill la Kill but Studio Trigger is not involved but Gonzo were. Easter eggs of Gonzo appeared in the tv show. I think Steins:Gate explores Akiba as well. Akiba’s Trip the Animation anime is average with light humor. There is some mild adult content and fanservice in this show. If you play the game, fans will see the differences. One day I might go to Akibahara in the near future. As of now, Anime conventions have that same favor like Akibahara. Due to Cov-19 Pandemic, I miss going to Otakon and many more anime cons.

The show has cosplay and pop idois as well. Just to give you a heads up for otakus out there. Akiba’s Trip the Animation is what Otakus should watch. Make sure to buy Akiba’s Trip: The Complete Series Dvd on Amazon . Along with Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed video game for PS4 and Vita on Amazon as well. If you been in Akiba let me know in the comments or social media. I am happy to be a Otaku and enjoy the lifestyle. Something tells me that I will watch more Akiba anime in the near future.
