NFTs in Video Games

NFTs In video games is another option that developers are considering to make more money. In light of this, Square Enix announced there are rolling out NFTs and fans were not happen with it. Square Enix is already is making alot of people with their Final Fantasy franchise and more. Why do they need to sell digital assets like artwork and soundtracks? They can be purchase but physically and digitally by fans. I don’t know the current financial state of Square Enix as of now. Speaking of another company called Konami, they’re already selling NFTs with Castlevania. But will Capcom and Nintendo do the same for selling NFTs? Who knows what video game developers are seeking to make more money. For those who don’t know what NFTs is, I will get you a brief definition and meaning of it.

NFTs is digital assets that can be sell online and auction for buyer with Crytocurrency or Bitcoin.   These uses a database called “Blockchain” which can’t be deleted, altered and hacked by any means. For example, you can purchase video game fan artwork with Cryptocurrency or soundtrack of your choice. Another example, posting YouTube videos on Blockchain database to sell for $10. You can get Bitcoin and buy that video, if it suits your taste. I know there is ways to earn Bitcoins and Crytocurrency online. That’s if you want to invest in Bitcoin and Crytocurrency to buy digital assets of your choosing.  In video games we already have in-game currency which you can earn while playing. If game developers uses Bitcoin and Blockchain gaming they whole industry would change.

In-Game Currency Vs Crytocurrency

While games like League of Legends, Fortnite and Knockout City has in-game currency. Crytocurrency has online money would you can earn by signing up to bonuses. Note: You can use real money to get Crytocurrency and put it in  a digital wallet.  Same goes for buying V-bucks using your credit card or bank account to get skins. Some people don’t want to use their real money to buy items in-game stores but earn them. I am one of them with no intention of buying NFTs anything soon. NFTs is not for me sorry, I love gaming in old fashion way. What about mod community and selling skins? Epic Games did roll out support a creator using promo codes to earn real money or in-game currency with V-bucks. That’s example, of a early NFT that will be use in the near future.

I don’t gamers will be using Crytopcurrency in video games, but there might be a option later on. We have Paypal already implemented but don’t know about Cash app. Who knows what Sony and Microsoft will do? Speaking of that Sony and Microsoft is doing a great job for selling digital copies of their IPs. As well for their physical copies that been selling handsomely on electronic retailers. You can buy codes in physically retailers Target, Best Buy and GameStop of video games. What about mods in video games? Modders will get the NFT cheese in the near future as well. I can see the wind blowing went artist and developers getting into NFTs.

Closing

NFTs in video games is a option for developers to use at last resort went making money. It’s only the beginning people NFTs will become a worldwide trend 10 years from now. You will see people buying memes, animated gifs and many more online. Especially, in YouTube vids went people earning you to buy NTFs with tutorials. Do you remember South Park Post COVID Special went Butters is encouraging people to buy NFTs? There are more people like him in the world and you might get rich. NFTS in video games might go along way of providing gamers the better experience. I think it will draw gamers away and don’t want anything to do with NFTs. Who knows what the opportunity will bring us in this digital age.
