Space Jam A New Legacy Summary
Space Jam a New Legacy is basketball movie starting MVP Lebron James. It’s been 25 years since the original .Warner Bros hyped this movie up because of properties making cameos and easter eggs. That being said, the plot is about Lebron James son Dom wants to be a video game designer. But Lebron wants Dom to go to Baseball Camp and play just like him. Lebron and Dom have a argument about playing basketball. Dom tells Lebron that he wants to be himself. While during Lebron childhood, his friend gave him Game Boy during Basketball game. Lebron was distracted by video games which it leads to him growing talking Dom that. Lebron visit Warner Bros to be featured in a movie.
While Lebron and Dom at Warner Bros pitch meeting arranged by his uncle. AL-G Rhythm, a rogue computer algorithm that wants be noticed. AL-G comes up with a plan to kidnap Dom because he was fascinated by his comment. Lebron and Dom ways through Waner Bros until they reach server room. Dom and Lebron gets transported into Warner Bros Serverse. AL-G introduce himself and kidnaps Dom then challenges Lebron to a basketball. In order to get Lebron son back, he was to win the game. AL-G sends Lebron to Toon World then meets Bugs Bunny who is only person in that world. Bugs explains that AL-G made a deal with other Looney Tunes.
Game Time
Lebron and Bugs Bunny recruits other Looney Tunes from different worlds of Warner Bros such as Martix, Mad Max and others. After recruiting Looney Tunes, Lebron teaches them how to play Basketball. Afterwards, Lebron and Toons returns and AL-G appears before them. AL-G digitized Lebron and toons into 3D CGI avatars. He also uses Dom code to digitized everyone into the Serverse included Lebron family. Al-G introduce Goon Squad (created by Dom and based on real life basketball players). It’s game time and Toon Squad is getting destroyed by Goon Squad. Lebron realized that Toons is trying to be like Lebron. Which Dom keeps telling Lebron about being yourself.
Dom realized that Lebron is having fun with Looney Tunes. Second half of the game, Looney Tunes are back in every. Toon Squad is trailing Goon Squad but Dom is feeling down. Lebron talks to Dom about listening to him and not being a great dad. Dom and Lebron have a heart to heart moment which angers AL-G. Dom stands up AL-G and betrays him saying”he wants people to fear him”. AL-G transform into basketball player and starts cheating. Dom tells Lebron about “step-back glitch” which video game characters get deleted. But Bugs Bunny uses the step back glitch and Toon Squad wins with help of Dom.

Everyone goes back into the real world and AL-G is posterized. Bugs Bunny is deleted but later on reappears in the real world. That’s movie ends, in my opinion, I enjoy the film and other doesn’t. Love the mixture of the 2D and CGI animation medium that film presented. Lebron and Don Cheadle acting was not good but cheesy. Movie also mention video games like Game Boy and E3 Coding Camp. You know I love E3 but this years was okay. Dom loves video games and we get to see him code and design characters. Design of the basketball court is very video game ish and uses powerups as well. The Looney Toons is same as always with their personalities and antics.
It was great to see Bugs and the gang during what they do best. Other than that, there is alot of cameos from Hanna-Barbera properties like Yogi, Scooby Doo and many others. Warner product placements make a appearances like Harry Potter, Casabanca, Game of Thrones and more, There is characters from other Warner Bros who watches in the audience during Basketball game. Al-G Rhythm wants to become famous like Lebron James and uses Dom to get what he wants. Dom wants to make a video game and AL-G butters him up. AL uses Dom steals codes and wants everyone to stay in serverse forever.
Closing
Space Jam a New Legacy movie is average but fun to watch. Not everyone will enjoy this film but handful will. I grew up with first film but doesn’t have that charm. This movie is great for the whole family but not for adults. As all critic say that Space Jam a New Legacy is a huge Warner Bros fanservice but doesn’t give the room to breath. Note: There is Space Jam a New Legacy the Game out on Xbox one. If you want to buy it on Game Pass. Buy the original Space Jam movie as well PS1 game. This movie was overhyped with commercials, trailers and a video game. Well there is mixed reaction but I am on the left side and enjoyed the movie. I got some laughs at the acting and jokes during my viewing.
But I am happy to watch it at home instead of movie theater. Well if you want to go watch Space Jam a New Legacy movie go right ahead it’s on HBO Max.
