Where is the Fun Factor?
Fun factor in video games is results of having lots of game modes. What about being good at them? Does it disappoint you in some way? I have play video games that suck the fun out of me. Even though I had fond memories of playing them. Whether it’s a battle royale game or fighting genre, I want to have fun. Some games I have to trade-in at Gamestop because lack of interest. In this countdown, I will be talking some games I have dropped. These games were highly popular and have a strong community. Mostly, I was dumb enough to buy some of them. Next time I will be careful what games to buy. Note: These games are not bad but isn’t for me. Let’s start this countdown with top 5 that I have drop.
Smite is a MOBA like League of Legends but different camera angle. The game was developed by Hi-Rez Studios that brought you Paladins. In the game, you choose between different gods from Mythology. You can level them out and unlock different skins for them. If you don’t feel like defeating towers. Go to the arena and battle it out. The gameplay is very similar to League. Players must assist minions on talking the enemy’s side. You buy relics like armor, potions and magic. Some game modes have 3 vs 3 or 5 vs 5 depending on your choice. I have fun playing this game but it’s not noob friendly. There were players tougher than I am. I have loss interest in it and was looking for alternative. It was fun while it lasted and was a good game. If you want to play Smite it’s available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Minecraft is a Sandbox game developed by Mojang. It’s all about being creative and was popular in mid 2000s. All you have to do is choose a world and explore it. Players can craft armor, build houses and share it with the world. I don’t know about Minecraft community as of now. You can play online games with people around the world. Creative is endless in Minecraft and its very subtle game. I was thinking about getting back on Minecraft soon. Right now I have to dropped it because doesn’t interest me anymore. Minecraft is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and more.
3. Rocket League
Rocket League is a vechular soccer game developed Psyonix. The game have various game modes like 3 vs 3 and many more. Instead of soccer, there is basketball and Hockey modes in Rocket League. In gameplay, it’s very similar to soccer but with cars. The team with the most score wins. I was so bad at this game. The game had power-ups which made it fun. I had to drop this game asap. Rocket League had cross-promotion items like Rick and Morty. It was great to see Psyonix partner with brands for promotions. Rocket League is a game that you will need a lot of practice. I lost interest in it and move on. Rocket League is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
2. Fallout 4
Fallout 4 is critically acclaim game from Bethesada. I have played Fallout 3 on Xbox 360. This is not the first time I have played Fallout series. Fallout 4 is a action rpg that revolves around post-apocalypse setting. You are a survivor of a nuclear blast and I have find your son Shawn. Players will meet characters that will help you on your quest. There is a lot of things, you can craft and wear armor. I love how story change based on dialogue tree. Fallout 4 brings realism aspects like getting sick and etc. I played this game and it’s wasn’t for me. The level up system is slow, carry items and facing stronger enemies. People may like the game but I didn’t. I lose interest in this game. If you want to buy Fallout 4, it’s on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Fortnite is a very popular third-person shooter developed by Epic Games. Just before H1Z1 and Player’s Unknown Battleground was available. Fortnite took first place in Battle Royale genre. The gameplay is similar PUGB and H1Z1, which you have to be the last person standing. There are other game modes like Zombies, Creative and etc. The game updates itself with seasons and new content. Players use emotes, pets and more. There are cross-promotion like John Wick, Marvel Comics and Marshmello. The game continues to have vehicles and more fun stuff. I had fun and score some kills in the process. There is another reason is “BUILDING!” I can’t stand that mechanic at all. Also getting killed in one shot (no sniper). If you want to play Fortnite for free it’s available for download on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
That’s all for the countdown but there some I have not mention. Jump Force is another game I have drop due to characters and execution. Marvel vs Capcom 3 and beyond, I wish there was a reboot to the series. Final Fantasy XV is another one I have dropped. That game took much space lol and enjoy it as well. Probably more game I have dropped but can’t remember. I did like these game but have to keep looking. Hoping to find games that will suit my mood for fun.
