Blerdcon 2018 – African American Comic Con and Fandom Review

What is Blerdcon 2018?

Blerdcon 2018 is a small nerd convention in Virginia. The term Blerd is short for black nerd (not Andre Meadow). It creates and embrace black nerd culture and fandom. Just like any other convention, there are panels, guest, gaming tournaments and maid café. Although, I only went on Saturday because it’s cheaper than going all three days. Blerdcon embrace anime, comics and different types of culture. LGBT, disabled and international community is welcome in this event. My first impressions of Blerdcon is just like any other small convention. There were guest should as Hip Hop Trooper, Karen Ashley (Yellow Ranger and Kevin Grevioux. Cosplayers make an appearance in Blerdcon as well. I went to Blerdcon with some people I know. One of them was celebrating a birthday. At the end of the day, she enjoy herself and was magic.

Does Violent Video Games Cause and Effects on People Behavior

How does violent video games effect people?

Violent video games are what gamer want more and get a thrill out of. Mostly, violent video games are rated M for Mature and A as Adult. ESRB stands for Entertainment Software Rating Board provides guidelines on what game is suitable for people. Youth can’t buy rated M and A games, due to adult content such as foul language and gore. Rated E is for everyone meaning anybody could play a particular game. Researchers found violent video games cause school shootings, aggression and bullying. This topics is debatable and not 100% factual that these causes behaviors. The mainstream media (fake news) never look at video games in a positive light. These people only report the facts but sometimes share their opinions on this matter.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Outlet’s like Fox News blame video games on crime but don’t back up their claim. The media brainwash viewers thinking video games are bad for children. For example, Stoneman Douglas School Shooting that happen this year. It was one of the deadliest shooting in American History. A lot of congressmen and women wants to put an end to it. President Donald Trump wants to banned assault rifles and bum stocks. Later on, talk with video game developers about banning games with assault weapons like Call of Duty. Video games don’t cause crimes nor irregular behavior among people. People point fingers at Mortal Kombat and Grand Theft Auto for encouraging crime and violence. It all started in the 90s and fast forward into 2018.

FighterZ is the best Dragon Ball fighting game

While Dragon Ball FighterZ is the most anticipated anime fighting game in 2018. Dragon Ball fighting games has been salty lately. Last Dragon Ball games was Extreme Butoden on Nintendo 3DS. Before Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was an average game. Folks who don’t know what Dragon Ball series about here is a summary. Dragon Ball resolves about a boy named Goku who is a Saiyan from another planet. Goku meets characters such as teenage girl named Bulma, a monk named Krillin and others along the way.

Dragon Ball FighterZ gameplay

During Goku’s adventure he and his friend search for seven Dragon Balls which grant you three wishes. Various villains get in the way of Goku on his journey, willing to become stronger and willing to save planet earth. Dragon Ball series is created by Akira Toriyama who created characters for Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger. Also worked on Dr. Slump, Go! Go Ackman and Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. Dragon Ball is the most well-known franchise in the world today and continued to grow for decades. As a fan of Dragon Ball franchise I am happy to grow up with it. Character developments, battles and story arcs what made the series great.

Gamers! – You Don’t Have To Good at the Game Anime Overview

What is Gamers!

Gamers! Is a light novel written by Sekina Aoi and Illustrated by Saboten. The plot of the anime is Keita Amano is loner boy who enjoys video games with a passionate. Amano is approach by the most beautiful student in the school Karen Tendo. Tendo is also a gamer and is a part of the games club. Tendo invites Amano to the games club due to both of them having a similar interest and love at first sight. Anamo declined the offer which lead Tendo stalking and acting awkward around him. The animation by Pine Jam which is a new company and directed by Manabu Okamoto. The series pay homage the mainstream games like Super Smash Bros, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, Mario Kart 8 and Tales of Phantasia.

GAMERS! Episode 1

During the opening you will see familiar games from those franchises. The anime teach us that you don’t have to be good at the game or play them competitively. It also tackles real life and romance issues such as Aguri for example she don’t play video games and falls in love with Tasuku Uehara. Aguri finding out that Tasuku is into other girls. Amano and Chiaki debating about video games and Tasuku struggles with being a geek in middle school. Don’t forgot being alone and don’t socialize much in playing video games.

What is Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody about?

Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody is based on Japanese light novel written by Hiro Aninana. The series about a 29 year old video game programmer, who is transferred into the MMO world. Ichirou Suzuki, now go by Satou Pendragon learns about slavery and how to survive in a new world. During his journey, he started as level 1 and higher in the first episode. The series tackles slavery and discrimination of demi humans. People compare this to Sword Art Online but it’s completely different. Satou gained a lot of female companions on his adventures. He also learn and acquire new skills as well. I love how Satou have first person view, where MP, HP and inventory are displayed. I guess Ichirou doesn’t need a VR helmet.

 Episode 03

Ichirou is a good nature and care-free protagonist that willing to help others. He quickly gains allies and friends on the way. Satou calls himself a merchant instead of traveler. He level up quickly went summoning meteor magic to defeat lizardmen. Instead of grinding to level up and obtain items. Ichirou already have them by luck, no like Kirito who had to work hard. He meets Zena Marienteil, who comes from a royal family that was saved by Satou. Afterwards, he encountered three demi human slaves named Pochi, Tama and Liza. These three are dog, cat and lizard demi humans, they have face discrimation and prejudice. Satou manage to free them but their mindset has not changed.
